The Chad’s business awards are one of Mansfield’s highest profile awards, winning one of our awards will say a lot about the quality of your organisation and the strength of your team. Our awards attract a wide range of entries from across all sectors from both small and larger organisations. But the winners all have one thing in common – they are truly excellent at what they do and have proved this by winning a Chad Award.

We want to help you raise the profile of your organisation and enhance its reputation by promoting the great work you are doing while at the same time providing you with a platform to celebrate your success.

Date: 29th November 2018
Venue: Portland Training College, Nottingham Rd, Mansfield NG18 4TJ

Being a winner in the Chad Annual Business Awards has given our business an enormous fillip.  Our success relies upon our good reputation across the communities served by the Chad.  In a highly competitive local market for education and training provision we need to attract individual learners, businesses as customers for training, and funding organisations who need to be confident that their financial support is going to a high quality and durable provider that achieves good outcomes for local people.  Winning a Chad Award is obviously a highly visible and respected badge for achieving those things.  At the same time it has generated a significant feel-good factor and pride amongst the staff and stakeholders internally.  Success in the Awards obviously depends upon representing high quality in the categories entered, but it also depends upon understanding very clearly what the award is for, what the success criteria are, and ensuring that any bids made reflect those accurately.  Running any successful business or service depends ultimately on having a really secure understanding of who your customers are and what it is that they want or need.  That sounds mundane, but many businesses get that wrong and so lose out to sharper competitors.  If you instinctively know those things well, then you can easily write about them for something like an Awards bid ‘from the heart’ as an organisation that truly serves the Ashfield and Mansfield community.  You can’t fake something like that.

Being Mansfield & Ashfield Chads’ “New Business of the Year 2017” has been as massive achievement for us. We really feel that we’ve hit a milestone alongside being in the UK’s top 10% of Which? Then “Crowned” overall Mansfield & Ashfield Chads’ “Business of the Year 2017” I’m speechless.

All of our company ethics and hard work to build excellent reputation,  has a empathetic and friendly nature.

We are currently expanding our fleet and recruiting new team members. We’re here to show a service no ones ever seen before…and an envision to create history.

Both Mansfield and Ashfield, are key areas for new and established businesses.. There is so much opportunity, friendly and hardworking people and good trade routes. I’m proud to be from Mansfield.

I would personally recommend any entrepreneur to enter the Chad Business Awards 2018. My mentor from the NBV gave me the single best advice-“a business is a strategic formula”.

All of this, in my own (and surely biased opinion) helped create one of the best U.K. removal companies. I have never been so happy.

Here at Fidler & Pepper we firmly believe that delivering a high standard of service is the essential ingredient to building and maintaining a successful business.  We know that to do this we need a motivated and efficient team of employees as, happy staff leads to happy clients, which leads to business success. This recipe for success puts people development at the heart of our strategy and Fidler & Pepper were delighted to be winners in last years Chad Business Awards in the People Development category. People development is intrinsic to developing our business and we’re so happy to have been recognised with the People Development Award. The Chad Business Awards bring together local businesses giving them the opportunity to celebrate their achievements, their teams of people and their business results. We are always happy to enter and support the Chad Business Awards as they recognise local achievements which make us proud to be a business in the local area. The awards celebrate many local successes which help all of us put Mansfield and Ashfield on the map.

Tempest Management Training entered the awards last year, for Business Person of the Year. The team decided to nominate our Director Margaret Tempest for this award, down to her core values, integrity and customer service. Margaret was overwhelmed with being named the winner of this category and the support she received from connections and other businesses. We are based in Mansfield and work with many clients within the surrounding areas so, this meant a lot to have won an award, that is part of the Mansfield Chad.

If you are thinking of entering, we would advise to do so, as it gives your organisation something to shout about and to be proud of. It was great to be able to put together content for our social media pages, blog and newsletter. It was great to experience the awards night with the team, and share the experience with everyone there.

We entered the awards for the first time in 2017. I wanted to show the local business community that the Baby & Nursery trade is a serious business. We entered two categories; Small Business of the Year and Retailer of the Year.

We were highly commended in Small Business of the Year, which gave us external validation that our business processes and growth were solid.

I was speechless when I heard them read out ‘and the winner is, Jack in a Box’ in the category of Retailer of the Year.

Since winning the award, we have received a lot relevant trade press, all free of charge, including a ‘retailer review’ in Nursery Today magazine, which had demonstrated to some significant suppliers that we are a retailer capable of selling their products effectively. I have also been contacted by other local complementary businesses looking at mutual promotion. All of this is because of the awards.

We believe our success is down to the fact we stay true to our core values of giving honest impartial advice and spending time with each and every customer.

I would add, that if you are thinking of entering the 2018 awards, you should go for it! After all, you have nothing to lose.

I remember my dad saying when I stated out,”if you know your products and treat your customers individually, the rewards will come”
